What are your views on the benefits of Kempo?
Kempo has been a way of life for me for over 20 years. I started training and studying at a young age and the benefits to me go well beyond the physical techniques and overall conditioning and strength developed. The skills and wisdom gained through hard work and dedication has guided me through some difficult situations and assisted me to strive to become the best person I can be. Over time my understanding of Chuan Fa has widened and the depth of knowledge displayed by my teachers continued to inspire and motivate me.

What training methods do you specialise in?
My base training is stance work & body shifting, by gaining a greater understanding of posture I believe the martial artist is able to increase power, strengthen the body and reduce unnecessary stress and tension throughout the body. I enjoy the feeling of grounding and the ability to lighten up and shift the body with flow and purpose. Specific training methods learnt in Tai Chi and Ba Gua have greatly improved my posture and assisted in my Studies as a student and as a Teacher. Iron hand training and Weaponry are enjoyable methods of conditioning and strengthening the body. I enjoy feeling the release of power and the challenge Iron hand training brings. Weaponry assists in developing full body movement and also extends beyond the empty hand. It is difficult to isolate preferred training methods as all play their part in developing style, form and overall effectiveness of technique.
